Friday was a hot one around the North State, with Valley highs near 100. This weekend will be more of the same, but we'll cool down nicely next week. Skies will remain locally smoky near the fires.
High pressure is peaking this weekend, and that will send Valley highs into the triple digits. Look for highs between 100 and 105 this weekend, but we'll cool back down next week as high pressure weakens yet again. Valley highs will be between 90 and 95 by Tuesday.
Skies are hazy throughout the North State, and smoky near the fires. Upper level winds will be fairly light this weekend, and that could mean smoke could linger in the Sacramento Valley, with no real wind to clear the smoke out. Air quality should improve somewhat next week, as the upper winds turn southerly, keeping most of the new smoke in the mountains
Everyone seeing thick smoke from these fires should limit their outdoor exposure and exertion under smoky conditions.
